Woolworths The Valley offers a welcoming atmosphere and a huge range of products in the Waiwhakaiho area of New Plymouth. Shoppers enjoy tasty bakery items like hot cross buns and chocolate biscuits, alongside excellent deals that help stretch the grocery budget. The store’s easy-to-use self-checkout system allows for quick trips, often under five minutes, even during busy times. While some customers mention challenges with the loyalty card system, the overall experience is positive thanks to the variety and quality of goods. It’s a reliable destination for those looking to shop smart and enjoy fresh, flavorful baked goods.

2 weeks agoIt's good but nit real happy about using the loyalty card, especially if you can't find your own one.

a week agoNeed a mat right at front door when rainy as it's slippery. Mat is way inside by the door barriers when you go through first set of sliding doors, sort of defeats the purpose once yr already in and slipped on the floor. Did mention to a worker but they just shrugged their shoulders

The 40% chocolate biscuits are the best, with a good range of buns and breads. Usually get a decent bag of 6 rolls for burgers. Easy as self check out in and out under 5 minutes

8 months agoI am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Woolworths. The cashier, an older woman with white hair and black glasses, displayed clear racial discrimination. As an Asia family, we were treated coldly, without a smile or greeting. When my child politely said “Hi and thank you,” she showed no reaction and completely ignored us. However, the white customers behind us were welcomed with warmth, smiles, and friendly conversation. Such behavior is unacceptable, especially in a company that should value diversity and inclusivity. I hope Woolworths takes this issue seriously and provides appropriate training to ensure all customers are treated with respect and kindness, regardless of their background.
